Step by Step photos on how to make jeera rice
Step 1- Switch on the flame and put a pot/pan on it and add 2 tbsp ghee/butter to it.
Step 2- Let the butter heat after that add 2 cinnamon stick,1 lack cardamon,2 dry red chilli,2 bay leaves and fry it so that the ghee gets the flavour of whole spices.
Step 3- Now add 1 tbspn jeera ( cumin seeds) and fry it in medium flame until it starts browning.
Step 4- Now add the wased basmati rice to the pan and stir it for a minute so it get mixed well.
Step 5- Now add 2 cups of water for 1 cup of rice and add salt to taste and mix it well.
Step 6-Now cover the lid of the pan and cook it in high flame till the water starts boiling after that cook it in low flame for 7-8 minutes.
Step 7- Check the rice if the water is soaked completely turn off the flame and cover the lid for another 5-6 minutes.
Step 8- When the rice is done add 1/4th cup chopped coriander leaves and mix it well.
Step 9- Now our jeera rice recipe is done and ready to be served. ( remove the whole spices after cooking the rice )
