It is a famous recipe around punjab and delhi. these recipe has a very unique name i.e kadai paneer because it is cooked it a wok or kadai and also served in a wok. i love kadai paneer because these is a very unique paneer recipe as it do not contain too much ingredients but still kadai paneer gravy taste far better than other paneer recipes.

When i was graduated from my college, we friends visited a near restaurant to celebrate. we were going to order butter paneer and naan but when i saw kadai paneer it seems to me unique so i ordered it and really we guys loved the kadai paneer gravy recipe with butter naan. you can have kadai paneer with naan,plain roti,pulao and plain rice.

Now lets start making ,our simple and easy kadai paneer recipe

Step by Step Pictures on how to make kadai paneer gravy full recipe:

Step 1- Switch on the stove and put up a pan and lets roast the dry spices first add 1 tspn coriander seeds, 1 tspn cumin seeds, 1 tspn fennel seeds,3 cloves, 4 cardamoms,5 pepper corn.

Step 2- Roast these dry ingredients for about a minute in a non stick pan. roasting the spices while give a beautiful smell of the aroma of spices.

Step 3- now transfer the roasted dry ingredients in a mixer jar and let them cool.

Step 4- now put a pan on flame and add 1 tblspn of oil.

Step 5- now add 4 sliced chopped onions into he pan and sort it well till it becomes golden brown.

Step 6- now our dry spices had cooled down ,now grind it and make it powdered.

Step 7- the onions had now turned brown ,add 2 finely chopped tomatoes.

Step 8- Cook the tomatoes till its nice and soft ( if you are in ahurry you can add a littelbit of salt so that the tomato and onions start to melt).

Step 9- now its time to grind the tomatoes with the dry powdered ingredient.

Step 10- add the tomato mixture, 1 tspn raw mango powder to the blending jar and grind it to a smooth pure.

Step 11- check on the mixture and add 2 tspn of water. now our tomato pure is ready.

Step 12- Heat a pan on the flame and add 1 tblspn of butter.

Step 13- Add 1 tblspn ginger garlic paste and sort it well for a while. don’t let the butter and the ginger garlic paste to burn.

Step 14- now add 2 green chili ,1 onion sliced well, few green capsicum and cook it for 2 minutes.

Step 15- once the onions are transparent,add the tomato masala paste that we had grinder earlier.

Step 16- let the masala paste cook for 2 minutes so that it won’t smell uncooked.

Step 17- add a cup of water for the gravy and sort it well for about a minute.

Step 18- when the gravy starts boiling , add 1/2 cup cream or yogurt if you wanna make it more richer (optional step).

Step 19- now add the paneer cubes 250 gm and toss them up and sort it well until it mixed with the gravy well.

Step 20 – Lastly add salt to taste and freshly chopped coriander leaves and mix it well for 2-3 minutes.

Ingredients for making kadai paneer gravy recipe-

For roasting the dry spices

  • 1 tspn coriander seeds
  • 1 tspn cumin seeds
  • 1 tspn fennel seeds

For making the masala mixture

  • 1 tblspn of oil
  • 4 sliced chopped onions
  • 2 finely chopped tomatoes
  • 1 tspn raw mango powder
  • powdered dry ingredients
  • 2 tspn of water

For Cooking the final kadai paneer recipe

  • 1 tblspn of butter
  • 1 tblspn ginger garlic paste
  • 2 green chili
  • 1 onion sliced well
  • few green capsicum
  • tomato masala paste
  • a cup of water
  • 1/2 cup cream or yogurt (optional)
  • 250 gm paneer cubes
  • salt to taste
  • freshly chopped coriander leaves

Directions –

4- the onions had now turned brown ,add chopped tomatoes.Cook the tomatoes till its nice and soft.

5- add the tomato mixture, 1 tspn raw mango powder,dry ingredients to the blending jar and grind it .

6- Heat a pan on the flame and add butter,ginger garlic paste and sort it well for a while.

7- now green chili ,onion sliced well, few green capsicum and cook it for 2 minutes.

8- once the onions are transparent,add the tomato masala paste.

9- let the masala paste cook for 2 minutes and add a cup of water for the gravy.

10- now add the paneer cubes 250 gm and sort it well until it mixed with the gravy well.

11 – Lastly add salt to taste and freshly chopped coriander leaves and mix it well for 2-3 minutes.

Instructions- 

  1. Don’t blend the tomatoes before cooking it unless the recipe may give uncooked flavour.
  2. Don’t hesitate to add butter, add according to your requirements.
  3. you can also fry the panner if it is not fresh.
  4. make the gravy cook well.

Bonus tip on kadai paneer gravy-

Serve kadai paneer with butter naans,plain roti,plain rice or pulao.
