Step by Step on How to make South Indian Chicken curry recipe
Step 1 -for marinating the chicken,take 1/2 kg chicken in a bowl and add 1/2 tspn turmeric powder,salt to taste and 4 tblspn red chilli powder mix it well and let it marinate for 30 minutes.
Step 2 -till than lets prepare our masala, put a pan on the flame and add coriander seeds,cloves,cinnamon and green cardamoms and also add 1 tspn cumin seeds.
Step 3 – saute them in a low flame till the aroma starts to come out from the whole spices.
Step 4 – Shift the whole spices to a grinding jar and grind them into a smooth powder mixture and set aside.
Step 5 -Now saute the poppy seeds in the same pan and take them out imediatally i.e 30-40 seconds.
Step 6- Now add the poppy seeds and chopped coconut into a grinding jar and make a fine paste of it and set it aside.
Step 7- again put ginger,garlic and green chillies in a jar and grind it to a make a paste and set it aside.
Step 8- Add 4-5 tblspn oil to a pan , let it heat and add 4-5 tblspn oil and chopped green chillies and also add salt to taste so that the onions start melting quickly.fry the onions till it start to become transparent
Step 9-now add 1/2 tspn turmeric powder, 1 tspn red chilli powder and mix it well with the onions.
Step 10-Now add the marinated chicken pieces and give it a mix and cover the lid.after cooking it in medium flame for 6-7 minutes open the lid just mix it for once and add 2 cups of water.
Step 11 -Cover the lid again in medium flame for 15-20 minutes.after that check if the chicken is cooked then add ginger garlic paste,masala powder and coconut poppy seeds paste and mix it well.
Step 12 -cook it for 5-10 minutes or till the oil starts extracting from the gravy.finally add few chopped coriander leaves
Step 13 – our South Indian chicken curry is ready to be served with plain rice.

1/2 kg chicken
2 finely chopped onions
3 finely chopped green chillies
1/3 cup chopped coconut
3 inch ginger
8-9 garlic cloves
2 tblspn poppy seeds
4-5 cinnamon stick
2 green cardamoms
4 tblspn coriander seeds
4 tbspn chilli powder
salt to taste
1/2 tbspn turmeric powder
4 tblspn oil
Directions for making south indian Chicken curry recipe –
1- for marinating the chicken,add above mentioned spices and mix it and marinate it.till than lets prepare masala, roast the above mentioned dry spices and powdered it in a grinder jar.
2- Now saute the poppy seeds in the same pan and add the poppy seeds and chopped coconut into a grinding jar and make a paste.again add ginger,garlic and green chillies in a jar and grind it.
3- Add oil to a pan and add onions,chopped green chillies and fry the onions.after that add turmeric powder,red chilli powder and mix it.
4- add the marinated chicken pieces and after cook it for 6-7 minutes and add 2 cups of water and Cover the lid a for 15-20 minutes.
5- after that add ginger garlic paste,masala powder and coconut poppy seeds paste and mix it.
6- cook it for 5-10 minutes and finally add few chopped coriander leaves and our easy chicken curry is ready to be served with plain rice.

1- You can also had the whole dry spices and fry it but it may come in mouth while eating the chicken curry .
2- Don’t add too much water and add a good amount of oil so that it gets fried well.
